🛋️ Boomlays Things
Boomlay's Things is active on the server and runs alongside the Much Stuff storage pack for at least the rest of this wipe cycle. A few of its features need explaining, so here's a short guide to the new items.
Kits and craftable items
Most of Boomlay's storage is found as kits in box form, spawning in areas similar to the Much Stuff kits. Some items are also craftable:
- Wooden pallet = 30 nails + 10 planks
- Table kit = a wooden pallet + 5 planks
A table kit has slots for wooden pallets; fill them to choose the table you build:
- Small table — 1 pallet
- Medium table — 2 pallets
- Large table — 3 pallets
The medium and large tables are nothing special, so you may not want to spend the nails on them — but the small table does have some storage.
- Bed kit = a wooden pallet + 5 planks
- 3 pallets attached = Small bed
- 4 pallets attached = Large bed
Sleeping on these beds recovers your rest faster than any other method, and lets you reach 100% rest during the day as well as at night. (See the How to Sleep guide for how fatigue works.)
- Rain collector kit = wooden pallet + 4 metal sheets — fill the material slot (4 fabric) to place it.
- Old wooden crate = 10 planks + 24 nails
The Old Fridge
The Old Fridge is found as a kit in civilian areas, and it's fully functional. Food stored inside lasts three times longer than it would outside.
Dismantling furniture
As with Much Stuff, you can dismantle any empty piece of furniture with a screwdriver, hammer, or pliers.
Paint and labels
To label a container, place a piece of paper in one of the slots marked "use paper to label" — a symbol then appears on the outside of the box, and it glows in the dark. Paint works the same way: place a paint tube in a slot, with each slot representing a different colour.
A note on proxies
You'll see weapons and clothing stacked visibly inside the furniture, which can cause some lag — so the mod automatically closes furniture after 10 minutes. We may adjust this over time. Note also that although other Boomlay's guides exist online, we've modified our setup slightly (we're not currently using the mod's workbench or repair bench), so this guide is the one to follow here.
