About XDC DayZ

XDC is a group of gamers who have been hosting online servers since 1999. In more than 25 years we’ve built a reputation for mature, experienced and trusted admins, and a laid-back community where everyone is welcome. Today that community runs a set of modded DayZ servers, and this site — xdcdayz.com— is the hub that supports them.

What we’re trying to build

Our servers are guided by two simple principles. First, we want an improved vanilla experience— DayZ as it is, but better. Second, wherever we can, we want to restore features from the original DayZ mod that the standalone developers haven’t gotten around to yet.

That means we’re deliberate about what we add. We only bring in mods that strengthen an area we feel is weak or underdeveloped in the base game — things like improved base building and raid mechanics, a better variety of military items, and the addition of helicopters. Every modded item is added with vanilla balance in mind, because keeping the overall server economy as close to true vanillaas possible matters to us. We’re just as careful that solo players get as good an experience as big groups.

A true sandbox

Above all, DayZ is a sandbox game, and we aim to protect that. We keep only the rules we think are genuinely necessary, and steer clear of restrictions that get in the way of how you want to play. Build any way you want, and as big a base as you want; and when it comes to PvP, pretty much anything goes. We’d rather trust players to shape their own experience than fence it in with unnecessary limits.

The servers themselves

To back all of that up we run on bare-metal hardware with excellent specifications, hosted in a professional data centre. It’s a setup few other DayZ servers can match, and it means the world stays smooth and responsive even when the map is busy. We are an independent community project and are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Bohemia Interactive, the developers of DayZ.

What this site is for

The website exists to help players get the most out of their time on the XDC servers. Everything here is built and maintained by the server team, and includes:

• Server guides— written walkthroughs covering base building, raiding, underground bases, vehicles, groups and more.
• Player stats & leaderboards— live rankings, personal statistics and a Hall of Fame recording standout survival runs.
• Weapon data— a reference of the weapons available on the servers, including our own damage-versus-range modelling.
• Build calculators & tools— utilities that help players plan bases and resource costs before committing in-game.
• News— wipe schedules, server announcements and event writeups.

How it is funded

Running dedicated DayZ servers costs money every month. XDC is funded by voluntary player donations and by advertising shown on this website. Donations go directly toward server hosting and are never required to play — supporters receive small perks such as priority queue access, but the servers remain fully playable for everyone.
