🔩 Scrap Metal

Scrap metal is a crafting resource that makes Tier 2 base building much easier to supply. You gather it by cutting down metal items, then use a blowtorch to craft it into useful gear.

Where scrap comes from

Cut metal items down with a hacksaw or handsaw to obtain scrap. Sources include car doors, wheels, power generators, pots, pans, castle armour, swords, pipes, pipe wrenches, crowbars, bear traps, ammo boxes, car radiators, jerry cans, battery chargers, sledgehammers and construction lights. You can also recycle crafted items such as metal chests, garden pots and barrels.

Crafting with scrap (requires a blowtorch)

• Garden Plot — a car-wheel planter; fill with dirt to grow 1 seed
• Scrap Lamp — a gasoline-fuelled torch
• Scrap Visor & Mask — cosmetic; the visor fits the Gorka helmet only
• Metal Sheets — 10 scrap → 1 sheet
• Scrap Barrel — 100 scrap; 120 slots
• Scrap Metal Crate — 100 slots plus a gun slot; attachable to trucks
• Jerrycan — 30 scrap
• Sledgehammer — 50 scrap

Breaking items down for scrap

• Metal sheets → 7 scrap (a loss of 3)
• Scrap barrels → lose 20% of their scrap
• Regular barrels → drop 100 scrap

Persistence

• Storage items: 45 days
• Non-storage deployables: 7 days
